The buttocks are an area naturally prone to signs of aging and lack of exercise, especially today considering our predominately sedentary working environments. The Brazilian Butt Lift is designed to counteract these effects by restoring the buttocks to a higher position, add volume, and enhance its overall shape, providing a more aesthetically balanced and youthful appearance.
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure that involves the transfer of fat to the buttocks region. Coupled with liposculpture, the technique is very effective in its ability to alter a patient’s physical appearance.
How Is A Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?:
During the procedure, excess fat is harvested through liposuction from other areas of the body, such as the abdomen, flanks or back. These fat cells are then injected into the buttocks within different layers of muscle and fat, a process known as fat grafting, to provide a natural-looking appearance.
Although butt implants are also an option, fat grafting is safer and requires less operative time, and is therefore the preferred surgical technique when performing a Brazilian Butt Lift. Fat grafting also requires less recuperation post-operatively. Finally, fat grafting allows a patient to benefit from liposuction, which complements the overall procedure.
Patients will be required to wear a supportive garment for 6-8 weeks. The majority of patients will be able to return to work within about a week. During the initial days following your surgery, patients should remain in a lateral position to avoid putting weight on the buttocks. Most normal activities will be able to be resumed after 4 weeks.
Dr. Lonergan will discuss specifics related to recovery from the procedure, as well as associated costs, during your initial pre-operative consultation.
