The Fraxel Laser offers improvement in skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and brown pigment. The innovative Fraxel Laser is specially designed to alter only fractional volumes of the selected tissue. The Fraxel targets aging and sun-damaged skin by targeting portions of specific damaged tissue and creating tiny microscopic wounds within the specified area. This triggers the body's natural wound healing process and speeds up the development of new collagen fibers and healthy new tissue.

Fraxel Laser Treatment offers the benefits of speedy healing and minimal downtime. Side effects are minimal and typically involve swelling and redness. Mild swelling should subside within a day or so, and redness usually fades over several days. Patients can apply make-up immediately after treatment and return to routine activities. Improvement is both immediate and progressive, with maximum improvement noted at about 3 months after your final treatment. The second generation Fraxel does not require the use of any messy blue dye. It also allows for more intensive treatments with less recovery.

Laser hair removal is very effective in treating a variety of skin colors and most hair colors except for very blonde or gray hair. The Super Long Pulse Diode laser, by Palomar, can treat a variety of skin types and can treat most hair colors except for very blonde or gray hair. The lasers only work on hair in the active growth stage. Because at any given time only about one third of the hairs are in that stage, at least 3 treatments are required in order to achieve adequate hair removal. Most patients will require more than three treatments. It is imperative that you do not pluck, wax or use depilatories for 3 weeks prior to treatment. You can however clip or shave during this time and need to shave the area the day of treatment. Most areas of the body can be treated.

In addition to these treatments, there are also injectable fillers such as Restylane and Radiesse. These can be injected during a lunchtime and fill in lines and wrinkles, such as the nasolabial folds, vertical lip lines and acne scars. Restylane generally lasts 4 - 6 months; Radiesse can last for up to 1 - 2 years. Radiesse and Restylane work by plumping lines or filling in hollow areas and are different from BOTOX. BOTOX acts to prevent muscle action that causes dynamic lines in the skin. Areas most commonly treated are the forehead, crow's feet and glabella (area between the eyebrows). Most patients have their treatment and are able to return to work immediately after treatment. Results from BOTOX generally last for about 4 months.
